Qian Li

Qian Li is the Advisor to the World Bank Vice President and Treasurer. In this role, she provides strategic and tactical advice to the Treasurer and the Treasury Leadership team. Prior to this position, Ms. Li served as the Advisor to the Vice President and WBG Controller for three years. Ms. Li joined the World Bank in 2007 and has since held progressively responsible roles within the Structured Finance team in the Controller’s and Treasury’s offices. Before joining the Bank, Ms. Li held several positions at Deloitte, PwC, and Fannie Mae.

When Ms. Li served as the Manager of Treasury Banking Operations at the World Bank from 2023 to 2024, she led the team in a collaboration with BIS Innovation Hub Swiss Centre and the Swiss National Bank on Project Promissa, a joint experiment to build a proof of concept (PoC) of a platform for digital "tokenized" promissory notes.
