Juan Beer

Skills and experience
Juan Beer has been Chief Executive Officer for Zurich Switzerland since February 2018. He first joined Zurich Insurance Group in 1987 as an apprentice and since has held various positions in Underwriting, Distribution and Relationship Management as well as in Market Segment and Country Management. This includes senior leadership positions as Chief Executive Officer of Global Corporate in Switzerland, Head of International Program Business for Spain, Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Corporate, Global Chief Underwriting Officer Property, Engineering Lines, Marine and Global Energy and Global Head of the P&C Technical Center. Prior to his current role, he was the Global Head of Group Reinsurance, where he successfully redirected and executed the Group's reinsurance strategies enabling protection of Zurich's strong capital base and earnings.

Juan Beer has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zurich Reinsurance Ltd since 2016 and Member of the Board of Directors of Zurich Opera House since 2018.

Educational background
Juan Beer holds a Commercial and Insurance Diploma from Zurich Business School and completed an Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School in 2013 as well as a High-Performance Boards Program at IMD in 2021.
