Shun Kobayashi

Deputy Director General, Bank of Japan

March 1995 - Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Economics
Mar. 2005 - Completed Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University

After working for a private bank and central government ministry, he joined the Bank of Japan in February 2006. Since then, he has been involved in discussions on the formulation of international financial regulations and financial market-related research work as a member of working groups under the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Financial Stability Board, Committee on the Global Financial System, and the Markets Committee.

He has served as a head of International Division of Financial System and Bank Examination Department since June 2019 and then as Niigata Branch Manager of BoJ since May 2022. Currently, he is deputy director-general of Payment and Settlement Systems Department.
