David Lais is a social entrepreneur and the founder of several successful payments startups. In 2015, a life-changing event sparked his decision to act on climate change, and harness payments technology as the catalyst. He is the founder of the non-for profit Organisation for Conscious Consumerism, and Co-Founder and Managing Director of ecolytiq, a climate fintech solution that helps banks engage their customers on sustainability and enable the green transition.
David strongly believes in the urgency of consumer awareness and action on environmental impact, and that technology is not a means to an end, but when used correctly, it is an indispensable tool to combat climate change. He has led speaking engagements at many global forums, including at COP28, Conference of the Youth (COY), TEDx, and the European Payments Council.
